Learn how to validate your offer before you create it, use Human Design to align your strategy, and turn your ideas into income with a scalable funnel. This is the sustainable business model every online entrepreneur needs to build offers that convert, create passive income, and grow with purpose.
Your Step-by-Step Strategy to Create Passive Income Without Burning Out
We’ve been fed a lie about passive income in online business - and it’s keeping too many brilliant entrepreneurs broke.
The promise sounds dreamy:
“Create it once, and it will sell forever.”
But in real life? That strategy leaves you spinning on the content creation hamster wheel, stockpiling offers, freebies, and course ideas, without ever validating if anyone actually wants what you’re building.
And that has to stop.
Because the truth is:
Most people won’t go to your website and buy something just because it’s sitting there.
Most entrepreneurs aren’t building pathways to their offers. They’re just listing them and hoping the right buyers will come along.
Let’s change that.
This post was inspired by a conversation inside Designed to Profit, my business mentor membership where we blend smart strategy with Human Design. Sonja, a brilliant Projector, asked about creating a 12-week course and selling it passively. Like so many others, she’s been
told that this is the only way to scale without burning out.
But here’s the truth:
If you want a sustainable business that actually sells and supports your energy, you need a system in place. One that brings leads in and nurtures them into buying that big offer of yours. One that’s rooted in clarity, aligned with your Human Design, and focused on solving real problems for real people.
Let me walk you through the offer ladder framework I’ve seen work again and again.
Step 1: Know the Problem You Solve
Before you build anything, get crystal clear on the real problem your offer solves.
And here’s the trick:
Focus on benefits over features.
Use “so that” and “because” to help your brain get below the surface:
Not: “6 coaching calls and a workbook”
But: “6 coaching calls so that you stop second-guessing your strategy and build momentum toward your first $5K month.”
Most entrepreneurs skip this step and end up selling the structure instead of the solution.

Step 2: Loosely Build the Framework
Now that you’re clear on the transformation, outline what you’ll teach or deliver.
This is not about perfecting the curriculum.
This is about being clear enough to confidently talk about it so that you can sell it. You need to understand the problem you solve and how you get the transformation that you promise.
Use your Human Design (your Profile, Channels, and even Type) to guide how you build and deliver. You may thrive teaching live or you may prefer to pre-record or even batch everything out once it’s sold. Leverage your Human Design to deliver it your way.

Step 3: Sell It Before You Build It
This is the one people fight me on.
Do. Not. Build. The. Whole. Thing. First.
Why?
Because you might spend months creating something that no one ever buys.
I once worked with a brilliant coach who left our 1:1 container excited to scale. Instead of validating her next step, she spent months building a big course before selling a single spot. Three years and four course creations later, she still hasn’t made a sale. She’s trapped in the creation loop with no income to show for it.
Don't let this happen to you.
Validate your offer by selling it first. Here's how:
Sell it with a clear transformation.
Deliver it with your people - live, pre-recorded, or weekly drops.
Use this beta round as a co-creation process, not a perfectionist performance.

Step 4: Build It in Real Time (With Real People)
When you create content alongside actual humans, everything improves:
Your teaching becomes clearer.
Your content becomes more useful.
You get testimonials, case studies, and better results.
You can batch record, go live, or drip content weekly. The key is this: don’t build it in a vacuum.
Your beta students will tell you what they need, if you’re willing to listen.
Pro tip: Ask for feedback after each module via a quick survey. This helps you improve the content in real time and make it even more powerful the next time around.
Step 5: Create the Scalable Pathway AKA Passive Income
This is where you turn a validated offer into a system that sells.
But most people get it backwards.
They start with a random freebie or low-ticket offer and try to reverse-engineer a funnel toward an unvalidated offer.
That’s a recipe for burnout and confusion.
Here’s the smarter way to scale:
Create The Lead Magnet That Matches Your Offer
It should:
Relate to the same problem your offer solves.
Provide a quick win that leads naturally into the next step.
Spark curiosity, not solve the entire thing.
What it should not do: Try to sell your big offer right away.

Nurture With an Email Sequence That Sells
Build a 5–7 email sequence that:
Builds a gap between what they’ve learned in the freebie and what they need next.
Introduces a low-ticket offer ($7–$97) that gives them a win and qualifies them as a buyer.
Talks about that offer repeatedly (no switching gears to talk about your big offer).
Buyers buy. Tire kickers unsubscribe. Both are welcome!
Funnel Stacking to Sell Your Offers
Now that your offer is validated and your list is warming up, you have options:
You can sell your offer via:
Evergreen funnels (email sequences from that low-ticket offer into your bigger offers)
Live launches
A hybrid model (live twice a year, evergreen in between)
Meta ads that walk people from lead magnet through the big offer on repeat.
What you’re not going to do is just list your offer on your website and cross your fingers.
You’re going to build pathways into it - through your content, ads, emails, and conversations.
Final Takeaway: Build Your Offer Ladder Backwards
Start with your core offer.
Then reverse-engineer everything else around it.
This is how you create scalable income, simplify your messaging, and stop wasting time on offers that aren’t aligned or profitable.
These are exactly the kinds of conversations we have inside Designed to Profit and we go even deeper by looking at your unique Human Design. Because when you build your business your way, it becomes sustainable, magnetic, and fun.
Spoiler alert: There’s no one-size-fits-all strategy in entrepreneurship.
But you do need a structure that works - one that supports your energy and grows your income passively.
I’d love to welcome you in Designed to Profit if this calls to you and you’re tired of doing things the hard way.
