Human Design Cheat Sheet
If you’ve ever searched for a “Human Design cheat sheet” to fast-track your understanding of your chart, you’re not alone. One of the most common questions I get when people start exploring Human Design is: “Can you just give me the simple version?”
But here’s the truth: The cheat sheet is that there is no cheat sheet.
Human Design isn’t a quick-fix personality quiz or a one-and-done reading. It’s a lifelong experiment. And while that might feel overwhelming at first, it’s also where the gold is. Because this isn’t about memorizing data points. It’s about coming home to yourself.
What Is Human Design… Really?
Human Design is your energetic blueprint. It’s a map of how you’re wired to make decisions, relate to others, work, rest, and express your purpose in the world.
It combines five ancient and modern systems:
The Chakra System
The I Ching
Astrology
Kabbalah
Quantum Physics
Your Human Design chart (often called a Bodygraph) is based on two snapshots in time: the moment of your birth and a second moment roughly 88 days prior. These give us your conscious and unconscious design - what your karma is that you brought in and how your personality expresses.
Why Human Design Feels Complicated at First
If you’ve looked at your chart and felt instantly confused, you’re not alone. The chart can feel like a foreign language at first, and in many ways, it is.
There are nine energy centres (some will probably be coloured in (defined) and some will be white (undefined) ), 64 gates, 36 channels, five energy types, twelve profiles, seven inner authorities, and an entire underlying system of circuitry. No wonder most people reach for a quick summary or cheat sheet!
But Human Design doesn’t work that way. This is not about labeling yourself and moving on. It’s about deconditioning. It’s about recognizing where you’ve been pulled away from your truth—and reclaiming the parts of yourself you’ve silenced, ignored, or buried under years of conditioning.
How to Start Learning Human Design
The fastest way to learn your Human Design is to live it. There’s no substitute for applying the information. The key is to take one piece at a time. Try working with your Type, Strategy, and Authority to get started and use it as a lens to reflect on your real life. You’ll be gobsmacked at how good it feels to lean into these parts of your design.

Defined and Undefined Centres
Profile

Step 2: Learn the Language Over Time
Don’t expect to know all nine centres or memorize all 64 gates right away. You’re learning a new language that can seem impersonal and odd, at first.
If you're feeling stuck, confused, or like you'll never "get it," you're right on track.
In my own journey (even with multiple Human Design certifications), it took me years to stop mixing up the Will Centre and the G Centre. It’s part of the process. Give yourself grace.
Human Design Is an Experiment, Not a Destination
I’ve done hundreds of chart readings, and one of the most powerful moments I see time and time again is when someone says: “I feel seen.”
That’s not because I gave them a list of facts. It’s because they recognized something true in themselves—often for the first time.
Many of us, especially second line profiles, have trouble naming our gifts. We’ve moved through life adapting to other people’s needs, showing up how others want us to. We’re exhausted, disconnected, unsure of what makes us us.
Human Design brings us back home to ourselves.
It shows you where your wisdom lives (in your undefined centres), where you’re consistent (in your definition), and what you’re here to teach by simply being yourself.
But you can’t rush it. You feel into it. You live it. You test it against your lived experience.
That’s when the clarity comes.
Human Design Conditioning Patterns
When you begin your Human Design experiment, start by observing these patterns in your own life:
Undefined | Open Head Centre: Constantly seeking more information, never feeling like you know enough, losing focus easily.
Undefined | Open Ajna Centre: Mental anxiety, defensiveness, lack of clarity.
Undefined | Open Throat Centre : Seeking attention in unhealthy ways. Struggling to feel seen and heard.
Undefined | Open G Centre: Feeling like you never fit in, questioning your direction and identity. Role confusion
Undefined | Open Will Centre: Struggling to feel worthy or valuable, continually trying to prove yourself.
Undefined | Open Emotional Solar Plexus: Avoiding conflict, people-pleasing, lack of boundaries
Defined Sacral Centre: Are you actually responding to life, or trying to initiate?
Defined Spleen or Emotional Centre: Are you trusting your body’s intuitive signals or emotional clarity?
Defined Will Centre - Do you continually feel like you’re too much? Too bossy? Too assertive?
Your chart holds the answers. But only if you’re willing to explore it in real time.
